Pyhä Yrjänä ja lohikäärme / Saint George and the Dragon

Artist Gunnar Finne

, Helsinki

Although Gunnar Finne (1886-1952) made this bronze sculpture depicting Saint George and the dragon already in the 1930s, it was not unveiled as a fountain in its present location in front of the workers’ institute until 1962. The dragon’s heads were made by the sculptor Johan Finne.

The work belongs to the City of Helsinki’s art collection, which is managed and curated by HAM.
