Due to dirtying and large deposits, and after the fountain had been left dry after many decades, the statue was removed and taken to storage. The base of the fountain, which is adorned with a colour mosaic, remained empty. However, in the spring of 2004 the fountain was repaired and the water technics were renewed and reunited with the little boy riding the fish, which were returned from the neighbouring house association. In the following summer of 2005, the fountain which was then returned to it’s rightful place, flowed again triumphantly with water from the fish’s mouth. The work doesn’t belong to the City of Helsinki’s art collection, which is managed by HAM. Read more.. At map
