Heartbeats Artist Pertti Kukkonen Talvelantie 6, Helsinki Pertti Kukkonen (s. 1954, Hämeenlinna) created this relief on the wall opposite the entrance in the Helsinki City Hospital Malmi’s ambulance tunnel. The relief depicts four human figures that seem to be stepping out of the wall. The striped appearance was produced by adding Styrofoam sheets with horizontal cutaways to the concrete casting moulds. The work was produced under the Percent for Art programme, and it belongs to the City of Helsinki’s art collection, which is managed and curated by HAM. At map
