Matti Peltokangas: Dinner Table, 2000. © Photo: HAM Helsinki Art Museum / Hanna Rikkonen Dinner Table Artist Matti Peltokangas , Helsinki Matti Peltokangas’ stone Dinner Table was unveiled on Easter night in the year 2000. On the rough face of the table there are twelve plate-size polished circles. They refer to the last supper offered by Jesus to his disciples. Peltokangas used grey Ristijärvi granite for the piece. The piece was commissioned on the initiative of Lyhty (lantern), an organization for the handicapped from the Pitäjänmäki district, and the association of Helsinki’s Lutheran parishes.
