Limited access: the work is available to view for the users of the premises only.

Pauliina Turakka Purhonen (b. 1971, Haapavesi) has created an installation that hangs from the ceiling of the Meritähti Daycare Centre. Entitled Leaf-Tree, the installation consists of a dry, debarked spruce tree, four metres tall, with birch tree leaves and other forms cut from birchwood veneer hung from its branches. All the leaves were painted with children in the daycare centre. As the children were painting, the artists talked with them about the beginning of the world, eventually adding to the leafs human figures and creatures from the stories.

The work was produced under the Percent for Art programme, and it belongs to the collection of the City of Helsinki, managed by HAM Helsinki Art Museum.
