Art Workshop with Maija Hurme

17:00 - 19:00

Art Workshop with Maija Hurme: Islands

In the workshop, we will delve into Tove Jansson’s beloved Pellinki archipelago. The island theme is explored through watercolour techniques: surprising drips and splashes turn into islands, stones, waves, surges, and threatening storm clouds. What is your island like?

Maija Hurme (b. 1976) is an author, illustrator, and news graphic designer who spends half of her time working with children’s literature and illustrations. Islands play an important role in her books, Yksinäisten saarten kartasto (The Atlas of Solitary Islands) and Kaikki löytämäni viimeiset (Last and Found).
